Following the controversy with Mike Curtin and the Mets, the Braves pushed forward and made the signing of Anthony Tote official. Few may remember Tote, but when he did play he had a major impact. In 2007 Tote batted .471 with 1 HR and 9 RBI. The reason the Braves signed him though, was for his electric stuff on the mound. Tote pitched 12 innings, sporting a 1.50 ERA. He allowed only 5 hits, 3 runs while striking out 28. Despite the hiatus from wiffleball, the Braves are hopeful of his ability to contribute right away. Does this shift the balance of power in the Hess Division now? Only time will tell. www.hessfieldwiffleball.com/Players/Braves/AnthonyTote.htm

he throws a fastball i beleive. no ones gonna know how good he is til he plays but i would bet he doesnt take the 2 spot no matter how good he is. I like him but his style couldnt be farther from the Braves style, it'd be like adding oprah to the jersey shore cast.

yea i dont mean any disrespect to tote but the move smells of...idk...desperation? kinda like popp to the angels, it wasnt just that he wasnt as good as he was supposed to be, eventho he was one of the best players on the team no doubt, but he just didnt fit with the angels style and it showed the whole season. i could be completely wrong but if im lookin at risk reward i think the braves could have already won the hess league without him so i just dont know how much of an upside there is to signing him.

Yea he's a big guy. I'm guessing he has decent speed. The Braves are underated. Which as I know from the Indians being underated (in my opinon) helps a team play better. Even the NWLA didn't give the Braves much respect with there st patty's predictions.

The Braves have confirmed the release of troubled right hander Anthony Tote. Tote was a no show on several Brave work outs. He was promptly kicked off the Braves roster before even making an outing. The Braves have not issued a statement, or replaced his roster spot as of yet.
