Since 2005, no pitcher has ever thrown a perfect game. Plenty of guys have come close. We've seen our share of no hitters and complete game shut outs, but never a perfect game. What is the hardest part about pitching a perfect game in wiffleball? Not walking a single batter. Eighteen batters up, 18 batters down. Opening day nonetheless. Against the Indians nonetheless!
Chris Horwedel is now Mr. Perfect. His only "blemish"? He allowed one ball to be put into play. Alex Kelly grounded out to first to start the game. After that, it was game over.
He also put on a show for the ladies, belting a towering 2 run shot to give his Cards a 3-0 win. His charm and good looks wasn't enough though later in the week against the Red Sox. Mr. Perfect struggled at the plate, as he watched John Dyer own the Cardinals line up. Sitting at 2-1 the Cardinals are still in good shape. They run into the Dodgers in week two, who have something to prove to the league. Should be an exciting match up.
