Things could not have started off better for the True Blue. The Dodgers dominated opening day behind their ace, Justin Mara. After some early control problems, he had no issue dismantling the Blue Jays rookie line up. Both the Mets and Dodgers had a lot to prove Thursday night. The Dodgers wanted to make a statement that they were legit this year, and the Mets wanted to show they can play with the big boys. With the Dodgers leading 17-6, in the top of the 6th, the Mets decided to make it interesting. Dodgers #2 pitcher Dan Desbiens had been controlling the Mets line up until the 6th. The Mets then burst out their home run trot, scoring 8 runs. The Mets cut the score to 17-14. With two men on, and two out, Dan Ciarmiello looked to tie the game. Desbiens reared back though, and caught Dan looking on a 2-2 slider. Dodgers took game one. Game two wasn't anything pretty, other than rookie Brendan Horan pitching a decent game. Dodgers sweep the series and improve to 3-0. Mets fall to 0-3 and hope to pick up their first win next week against the Red Sox. Attachments:
